Volunteer with us

First Aid Ski Patrol members are volunteers at either Grouse Mountain or Cypress Nordic (Hollyburn).

  • Members patrol an approximately 8-hour shift either every second Saturday or every second Sunday for the duration of the ski season.

  • Members must attend a minimum of 80% of shifts plus at least 1 shift on additional event/holiday dates such as Christmas break, Family Day, Spring Break, etc.

  • Patrollers and Mountain Safety must be a minimum 18 years of age

  • Patrollers on Grouse must hold at minimum a current 80-hour first aid certificate

  • Patrollers on Cypress Nordic (Hollyburn) must hold at minimum a current 40-hour first aid certificate

Grouse Mountain (min. 80 hrs)

  • Emergency Medical Responder*

  • Non-Urban Emergency Care

  • Outdoor Emergency Care

  • Occupational First Aid - Level 3

  • Registered Nurse - with Emerg Experience

  • Medical Doctor License

Cypress Nordic - Hollyburn (min. 40 hrs)

Junior Patrol

Our Junior Patrol program is for High School students aged 16-17. The program develops junior patrollers’ leadership abilities and first aid skills through mentorship and real world experiences.

Junior patrollers can expect to be core members of our patrol teams, helping with first aid calls, assisting with mountain safety management, and providing the public with great customer service.

First Aid certifications are preferred but not required.
